WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE BELIEVE Founded in 2000, the society has grown to over 100 member families and water gardens. We are dedicated to the further education and enjoyment of ponds and water gardening in the Clarksville/Montgomery County area.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO BECOMING A MCWS MEMBER? Sharing good times and fun with others who share a passion for water gardens is the ultimate benefit. If you are not currently a water garden owner but are considering building one in the future, then outings such as our water garden parties and our annual Water Garden Tour are a great source for ideas and information. Also receiving tips from others can (and will) help you avoid costly mistakes and pitfalls along the way. Other benefits of membership include: a Membership Card good for discounts at participating area merchants on water supplies, plants, fish etc., our Monthly Newsletter “At The Water’s Edge”, which will keep you up to date and informed about upcoming events and what’s new to the hobby, and “The Complete Water Gardener”, contained in an attractive binder, the Society’s own collection of everything you need to know facts aimed at making you a more knowledgeable water gardener.
WHAT IS THE COST? The initial cost of membership is $20.00 per family. This covers the issuing of nametags, membership cards and the binder “The Complete Water Gardener”. Cost of annual renewal is only $15.00. One of the best bargains going when you consider all the fun, food, fellowship and information that can be gained by becoming an MCWS member.
ANNUAL SCHEDULE OF EVENTS November, December, January and March are months with no meetings, as our water gardens are sleeping for the winter. February is when we hold our annual Banquet and Award Dinner. The Society provides a large buffet style meal and speaker for this annual event. In April we travel to Country Koi and Water Garden for their big annual open house and picnic. Always a great way to open the season with plenty of fun, food and door prizes. May, June, July & September finds MCWS members enjoying the good life at our monthly Water Garden Parties. A totally fun and social event where we enjoy the hospitality and water garden of the host member. Food and door prizes are always around a MCWS event. October we again travel to Country Koi for their Annual Customer Appreciation Day which is filled with fun, door prizes and some of the best BBQ around. August is the month of our big annual WATER GARDEN TOUR. This is our only fundraising event of the year and showcases the creative talents of our members. And of course, the day is topped off with...you guessed it...fun, food and door prizes. The Montgomery County Water Garden Society is one of your best social and entertainment values. Whether you currently own a water garden, are considering building one, or just enjoy the beauty and tranquility, we would like you to consider membership.
