Pond Tour 2011

Here we are featuring photos from the 12th Annual MCWGS Water Garden Tour held on August 27, 2011.  These photos are just a small sample of how beautiful the ponds were on our tour.  If you were unable to attend this year, plan on visiting us next year in August.

Our first stop on the tour was the home of Jim and Trina Snider. They have built a rock stream that completely blends in with the natural setting of the woods in their back yard. All the rock was brought in from East Tennessee to form this very beautiful and relaxing stream.

Now on to Wayne and Darlene McPherson's home for a look at their pristine water garden.  And work is being done in their front yard on a second pond.  Just might have to visit them again next year!

It was a bit of a drive, but well worth the trip to Ashland City, to see the gorgeous water gardens and setting at the home of Jim and Nancy Vaden.  Their water garden features very large koi directly imported from Japan.  And their backyard could not be prettier with a Tennessee stream running behind their deck.

We headed back to Clarksville to visit the home of Dawnette Abren.  She and her son have build all their water features by themselves.  Their hard work is evident with three small ponds filled with water lilies.

Now across the Cumberland to visit the home of Charles and Lilo O'Bryant.  Their watergarden's waterfall near their patio gives just the right sound for a peaceful evening outside.  Lovely trees help shade the pond as well as add to the natural setting.

Traveling back across the river, we visit the home of John and Juanita Billings. They built their own water garden which features a "dock" where you can stand to look down on the fish in their sparkling water home.  Koi, goldfish and even a catfish make their home here.

Our last stop was across town at the home of Bill and Dee Gleason.  In a new subdivision with barely a tree, the Gleason's have managed to make a beautiful, cool setting for their water garden.  A lovely ending to our tour.

Thank you to all our pond owners for a wonderful day!

At 5:00pm we all gathered at Billy Dunlop Park for a picnic and awarding of some awesome door prizes. As always, plenty of food and fun was on hand.  Here are just a few shots of the fun.

                       Some very happy prize winners!
